“Best BBQ ever!”
She looked at his smiling face. He was so cute the way he always knew what to say and when to say it. She was lucky to have him.
“You aren’t just saying that?” She smiled as she spoke.
“No dear, this was amazing.”
“Well I didn’t have much to work with, just a fire and some of the local vegetation. I have never been good at camping in the wild.” She laughed wondering and hoping the plants she used weren’t poisonous.
“I have to hand it to you honey, you can turn anything into a gourmet meal.”
Her cheeks flushed. He knew the best way to her heart was to compliment her cooking. They had been together for 37 years and some things just don’t change.
“I think I will try to do a stew tomorrow,” she mused out loud.
“Hmm, well I better get busy then.”
He stood up and walked over to the burned out plane.
“Now where’s that Steward?”
