I sit on this chair
Wanting to feel the air
The sun in my eye
To warm before I die
I want to run again
With ink from pen
I will swim in this verse
As age is a painful curse
I want to have no pain
See clearly without the strain
To have bones that don’t Crack
Or a morning without a stiff back
I see the years come too fast
I know it cannot last
My smile lingers still
I will tip on that final bill
And kiss the ones I have loved
And wave as I float above
For I know what is fleeting
No matter how I am cheating
And so I pass the days
The blue sky and the grey
Happy with the life I led
Satisfied even when dead.
