Journey.

Do you know

How far we’ve come

From distant shores

And setting sun

We all have seen

More than the past

And yet we go on

Moving way too fast

And when we stop

And take a rest

The world still turns

From east to west

So let’s go with the ride

And continue to go

On the endless journey

The forever flow.

Petals.

I watch the petals
Blow in the wind
Like moments of my life
Leaving me.
They flew on the  air
And I said my farewells
Letting each memory go
With the wind.
I miss some petals
They once made a flower
A gift that was given
In friendship.
Some fly lazily
Not quick enough for me
For a few are stained
Blood red.
But they all were parts
Of what  made my past
As I watch I smile
For a new flower.

Past, Present, and…

I was an old man,
before I aged,
counted stars,
as they fade,
I held a flower,
before spring had come,
and watched the end,
as it begun.

I have reached within,
held without,
given to pain,
shuddered in doubt,
I have lifted mountains,
and swam deep seas,
in hopes of finding,
a better me.

Don’t blame me dears,
don’t judge my life,
my wit is sharp,
like the cutting knife,
my smile is true,
perhaps too wry,
but I’ll laugh at fate,
before I die.
